Young children have an incredible ability to grasp and enjoy board games, which makes them a valuable tool for development. Playing games fosters cognitive skills, patience, and social interaction, while providing a fun and engaging way to bond with others.
If you're interested in adding kid-friendly games to your family game night, check out a few of my toddler's favorites below.
An educational game where players match letters called out to their bingo cards, aiming to form a row or pattern to win.
A fun game where players carefully remove spaghetti strands from a bowl without letting the Yeti figurine fall in.
This is an exciting game where players use small fishing rods to catch sea creatures from a shark's mouth, before it snaps shut!
A balancing game where players take turns adding beans to a tipping pot, trying not to be the one who makes it spill.
A suspensful game where players take turns removing sticks from a tube, trying to prevent marbles from falling through and causing the structure to collapse.
A fast-paced word game where players race against the timer to name words in a specific category, that start with a chosen letter, before time runs out. I also use it to practice my toddler's letter recognition.
