Or was potty training one of the most difficult things I experienced as a mom? I watched so many videos, and read so many books, on how to train my child to use the toilet. But, nothing prepared me for the amount of money I would spend on potty books, potty toys, and potty activities. Am I complaining? No, because I did purchase some things that were 100% worth it, because they worked. I just wish I had something like momgenic.com with a curated list of worth-while potty items.
With that said, below are the things that my toddler loved (and still does), because they made potty time fun.
A potty with a realistic and child-friendly design, complete with flush sound effects. I personally bought two, one for each of my bathrooms, because the sense of familiarity helped me with the potty training process.
A delighful children's book that guides toddlers through the potty training process, with engaging illustrations and encouraging language.
An interactive children's book that explores the various places that animals poop. Momgenic tip: make farting noises as you pull the flaps. If your toddler is like mine, they'll laugh every time!
A playful children's book that helps toddlers become familiar with their potty seat, recognize the urge to go, and the importance of washing their hands.
My secret weapon against the ick factor in every public bathroom adventure!
We use this seat whenever we go to a relative's house or stay at a hotel/airbnb. I love it because its compact, portable, and hygienic, and fits perfectly over any standard toilet.
This is the book that gave my toddler the final push she needed to finally use the potty on her own. Its simple yet encouraging.
We keep this travel potty in the car, for emergencies. Its compact, sturdy, and super easy to use. It also comes with a travel bag, and disposible potty bags.
These potty liners are my favorite because they are affordable and extremely sturdy. They are my go-to for ou Blue Snail travel potty.
A cheerful book that guides toddler girls through the potty training process. It also includes a potty training chart and stickers.
If your child finds the process of using the potty boring or scary, the potty training chart will make it fun! It turns each successful trip into a fun and rewarding experience, fostering a sense of accomplishment and motivation.
